TWIN SISTER DOCS FOUNDATION.

Twin Sister Docs Foundation, Inc, a 501(c)(3) organization, was created by identical twin sisters, board-certified general pediatrician, Dr. Elana McDonald and family medicine physician, Dr. Delana Wardlaw. The foundation focuses on developing and supporting programs that focus on health, wellness, and patient advocacy. The Foundation seeks to increase awareness of health care disparities, implicit bias, and cultural competency, specifically in minority and vulnerable communities. As trusted messengers, we provide culturally sensitive messaging that translates into individuals becoming advocates in their healthcare leading to transformational outcomes.  The Foundation recognizes the importance of healthcare professionals and organizations being aware of the social determinants of health that impact the ability to provide quality care. Therefore, in addition to working on the individual level, the Foundation seeks to work with health care institutions, various community organizations, and government officials to increase such awareness. COVID-19 exposed the grim reality that access to health care is not always equal resulting in negative effects on marginalized communities. Furthermore, COVID has highlighted many of the existing underlying etiologies of the healthcare disparities and inequities in minority and vulnerable communities. It is these etiologies, such as affordability, availability, and accessibility, that the TSD Foundation is aiming to address through our core programming listed below:

Mentoring Sessions with Students

Medical School Application and Matriculation Information Sessions
