"The Twin Sister Docs, Dr. Wardlaw and Dr. McDonald, have been serving as trusted messengers in the community throughout their careers as they address the various health disparities that plague black and brown communities. However, during the current COVID-19 Pandemic, they have stepped up their efforts dramatically. They have provided accurate and clear messaging about COVID-19, testing, and education, and have addressed vaccine hesitancy through numerous forums, and on every platform that I use to communicate my messages. Twin Sister Docs have participated in my telephone town hall meetings, zoom calls, and high-level policy conversations every time that I have reached out to them. They have also been guests on my weekly radio show to educate our communities about the latest developments with the Pandemic. They have been key health policy advisors in meetings that we have convened with City and State health officials. Twin Sister Docs, represent the epitome of “trusted messengers delivering trusted messages” in every sense of the idea. They are an invaluable resource to me and to the broader community."

- Senator Vincent Hughes, Pennsylvania Senate

"Twin Sister Docs have hosted two COVID-19 vaccine clinics at Philadelphia E&T Charter School and we will definitely be scheduling additional dates in the future.  Staff were all attentive, efficient and professional.  Our students and staff felt at ease geting their vaccine thanks to the warm environment created through the constant smiles and reassuring words.  Twin Sister Docs made hosting an in-school clinic as unchallenging as could be. Thank you Twin Sister Docs!"

- Electrical and Technology Charter School of Philadelphia

"In the fight against COVID-19, education sessions - about the virus and the available vaccines – are necessary to convince people to take the vaccine. Additionally, those words of encouragement must be delivered by a trusted messenger. Fortunately, I am friends with Dr. Elana McDonald and Dr. Delana Wardlaw - trusted messengers. Dr. McDonald and Dr. Wardlaw held three education sessions for the Gesu School community and, recently, conducted two onsite vaccination clinics for our children (12 years of age and older) and parents. I am grateful to Twin Sister Docs for partnering with Gesu School to keep our children safe."

- Bryan Carter, president & CEO of Gesu School.

"In a community where many people are unsure and afraid about the realities of COVID-19, Dr. Elana McDonald and Dr. Delana Wardlaw have been instrumental in informing my audience about the disease, its causes, and how to protect themselves from infection. For several months, they’ve walked us through the news cycle about COVID-19, giving us truth to cut through the lies, and medical knowledge to provide people with hope. When vaccines became available, they explained how the vaccines work, what people should expect in terms of side effects, and demonstrated a real cultural competency concerning the reasons Blacks people were hesitant. As morning host on the only Black-owned talk radio station in Pennsylvania, and as community affairs director for another radio network, I speak to an audience that is informed and engaged. But they are all much better equipped to make good decisions about COVID-19 and the vaccines thanks to the knowledge they’ve received from the Twin Sister Docs."

-  Solomon Jones, Host, WURD Radio and Classix 107.9

Columnist, Philadelphia Inquirer

"More than ever as a result of COVID-19, it is more important than ever to deliver accurate timely information to my audience.  I cannot thank Twin Sister Docs enough for their up to date, timely expertise concerning the Corona Virus, its impact on the community and best practices to survive and thrive medically during this uncertain time.  The response from the audience when they are guests on the show is always overwhelming and appreciative.  They are truly a gift to the City of Philadelphia and quite frankly the country."

- Frankie Darcell, Radio Personality

"I would like to take an opportunity to acknowledge Doctor Delana Wardlaw's and Doctor Elana McDonald’s tremendous, and commendable efforts, as they inform and protect the most vulnerable communities from the COVID Virus. Their dedication over the past year, has surely saved many lives. Unfortunately, there probably is no metric in place that could accurately document their life saving efforts. In that case, I can only give my testimony and hope to encourage others to do the same. The doctors both understand, and have mentioned on mass media outlets, that the African American community is extremely apprehensive about receiving the COVID Vaccination. The tragic American History, that has negatively impacted black people, specifically relating to vaccinations, had put me "On Pause." In all honesty, I had absolutely decided, NOT to take it. In early January, I heard Doctor Delana Wardlaw and Doctor Elana McDonald on WURD Radio speaking about their initiative to educate and encourage the community to take the vaccination. Solomon Jones asked the doctors were they going to take the vaccine, and they affirmed that they would. They expressed that they felt a responsibility to protect their patients and family, by taking the vaccine. That answer was the "SOLE" reason that I received my first shot on January 23rd. Which ironically, coincided with my birthday, which could now be considered my Life Day. Their response hit a cord with me since I am a First Responder and I hold the same obligation to my family and the Philadelphia Community that I serve. I am looking forward to my second shot in the coming days. I greatly appreciate Doctor Wardlaw and Doctor McDonald’s commitment caring for all of us in this region and nationally.

"The Twin Sister Docs inspired me to make informed decisions on getting Covid tested, the importance of wearing masks and finally getting vaccinated. Dr. Wardlaw and Dr. McDonald, look like me and care about my well-being. The way they provide the information is very clear and trustworthy. They are relatable and take time to answer questions. They want to ensure that questions are answered. As a black woman, it is important that my questions are respected and my concerns are heard. I was torn about getting the Covid vaccine. I was scared, untrusting and believed I could take my chances. I lost my brother to Covid in December 2020 but, while watching different interviews, asking questions and seeing the journey the Twin Sister Docs shared with getting their vaccines, I felt comfortable with getting my husband, my sons and myself vaccinated. They didn't just talk about it; they actually did what they have been sharing with all of us. That gained my confidence and my fear went away. I am thankful for having this resource for my family and I to access. I feel more connected to them than my own PCP. They take the time to educate me on healthcare. So, I am thankful and appreciative for their guidance."
